Regional Director International Food Safety Regulatory And Quality Systems

Position Overview

Johnsonville has an excellent opportunity to join us as Regional Director, International Food Safety, Regulatory & Quality Systems, reporting to the International FSQ/Commercialization Director. This position is based in the Philippines and is responsible for the governance, tactical implementation and consistent execution of Johnsonville Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality Systems across multiple international markets. The Director provides direct coaching and development for in-country Food Safety & Quality members and provides system direction to internal and external FSQ operators responsible for execution. Working in tandem with International Business Unit leaders and US Domestic FSQ Technical Services, this role translates global FSQ priorities into practical country-level plans, establishes consistent management systems, verifies effectiveness and strengthens accountability. The successful candidate must be an experienced coach and influential leader who can operate effectively across countries, cultures, and regulatory environments. 

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop in-country FSQ members and leaders, strengthening technical capability, accountability and readiness for expanded responsibility.
• Provide governance and system direction to internal and external FSQ operators responsible for executing Johnsonville Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality requirements.
• Partner with Global FSQ leadership to translate strategic priorities into clear tactical plans, implementation milestones and country-level accountabilities.
• Establish, deploy and continuously improve consistent Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality Systems across international markets.
• Standardize FSQ procedures, operating practices, performance measures, reporting and management review routines while incorporating applicable country requirements.
• Ensure Johnsonville requirements and applicable regulatory obligations are effectively communicated, implemented, maintained and verified.
• Maintain working knowledge of relevant international food laws and regulatory requirements and coordinate appropriate interpretation with in-country resources and technical experts.
• Monitor system performance through audits, compliance reviews, scorecards, trend analysis and management review, and provide clear visibility to FSQ and International Business Unit leadership.
• Identify systemic gaps and implementation barriers and ensure corrective and preventive actions are timely, effective and sustained.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and escalation support for significant food safety, regulatory and quality matters.
• Partner with US Domestic FSQ Technical Services to apply Johnsonville technical standards, methods and subject matter expertise consistently across international operations.
• Work with International Business Unit leaders and Operations to integrate FSQ requirements into operating plans, business routines and decision-making.
• Build a culture of food safety ownership, regulatory compliance, disciplined execution and continuous improvement across the international business.
• Manage assigned international FSQ resources and operating budget in alignment with established global and business priorities. 

Education

• Minimum of BS degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, Regulatory Affairs or a related technical discipline
• Advanced degree preferred or equivalent additional experience 

Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of progressive Food Safety & Quality experience, including leadership responsibility across multiple operations or countries
• Demonstrated experience implementing, governing and improving food safety, regulatory and quality management systems across international markets
• Experience with a multinational employer preferred
• At least 5 years of coaching experience, including development of technical professionals and leaders to higher levels of responsibility

Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of international food laws, regulatory frameworks, labeling requirements and compliance expectations, with the ability to identify and coordinate country-specific requirements
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across geographically dispersed teams, external operators, diverse cultures and multiple time zones
