Yield Engineer - COX Expansion

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead yield improvement and defect-reduction initiatives driving world class final yield and scrap rate across CoC assembly and test manufacturing processes
• Analyze production, assembly, test, equipment, and quality data to identify trends, variation, and major yield-loss mechanisms
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, fishbone analysis, fault-tree analysis, and DOE partnering with process, product, equipment, quality, operations, and global engineering teams to resolve manufacturing and product issues
• Ensure that yield improvement actions are documented, validated, and sustained through effective monitoring and ownership
• Establish yield dashboards, pareto analysis, and other related trend charts/monitors and develop standards and best practices for yield analysis, defect classification or data collection
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction, product transfer, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement that any process changes, equipment changes or upgrades, material changes and design revisions go through yield impact evaluation
  
  

Education & Experience

• A t least a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Typically 3–5 years of experience in semiconductor or optoelectronics with demonstrated experience leading complex yield improvement and defect reduction projects across multiple manufacturing processes.
  
  

Skills

• Possess advanced knowledge of yield analysis, statistical methods, process capability, design of experiment, MSA/GR&R, and variation reduction
• Possess strong data analysis skills using tools such as Excel, JMP, SQL, Python, Power BI, or equivalent platforms
• Has demonstrated ability in root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, failure analysis, and structured problem-solving
• Has the ability to interpret manufacturing, test, equipment, reliability, and quality data to identify actionable improvement opportunities and driving them to implementation
• Possess strong ownership, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and bias for timely execution.
• Demonstrate ability to translate complex technical information into clear business and operational recommendations in addition to having good technical communication, presentation, and documentation skills
  
  

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite w orking in a manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, and cleanroom environment
• Regularly interacts with production areas, laboratory, equipment, process and cross-functional teams
• May require occasional support outside regular working hours during critical builds, investigations, or production escalations
