Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Procurement Execution & Coordination
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for semiconductor-related materials, tools, consumables, and equipment.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and drawings to ensure sourcing accuracy.
- Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze supplier bids, and recommend sourcing decisions based on cost, quality, delivery, and technical compliance.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Project Management to align material readiness with project schedules and production timelines.
- Ensure all purchase orders meet internal standards and customer requirements.
- Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation
- Identify and qualify local and international suppliers capable of meeting semiconductor industry requirements.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on price competitiveness, delivery reliability, technical capability, and quality performance.
- Support supplier audits, technical discussions, and qualification processes in coordination with Quality and Engineering teams.
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to improve responsiveness and cost efficiency.
- Cost & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms to achieve optimal cost and delivery performance.
- Monitor market trends, raw material costs, and supplier capacity to anticipate supply risks.
- Support long-term agreements and supplier consolidation initiatives led by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal standards, and EHS guidelines in all procurement activities.
- Technical Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, R&D and Facilities during equipment selection, specification review, and installation planning.
- Provide feedback on alternative parts, design changes, or supplier substitutions to improve cost or availability.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on spare parts standardization and lifecycle cost optimization.
- Support fab expansion, equipment relocation, and new tool installation projects.
- Data Accuracy & Reporting
- Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) including POs, pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier records.
- Track and report on key procurement KPIs, such as cost savings, on-time delivery, and supplier performance.
Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes, documentation, and reporting systems
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Electronics), Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
- 3–7 years of procurement or technical buying experience in the semiconductor, electronics, or high-technology manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process tools, facility systems (vacuum, gas, CDA, UPW, HVAC), and cleanroom operations.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and familiar with procurement best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, prioritize, and communicate effectively across functions and suppliers.
- Knowledge of SEMI standards, ISO 9001, and EHS requirements for high-tech manufacturing is a plus.
