Engineering talent development - develop the teams expertise in engineering analysis, solving critical issues together with other Coherent site.
Improve company KPI - work with cross-functional groups (production, planning, QA, etc.) to achieve company objectives (quality, cost, delivery).
Equipment technology roadmap owner - periodically review upcoming new product requirements and determine the required equipment technology to support volume production.
PM/Calibration/Repair management - oversee company pm/calibration/repair administration including cost reduction activities.
Experience facilitating improvement projects and Kaizen. With knowledge on methods for waste elimination, efficiency improvement, yield improvement, and cycle time improvement.
Require skill sets to breakdown complex operations with a process-oriented mindset for analysis and creations of strategic plan.
Experience assessing manufacturing processes through the use of PFMEA, process capability analysis, root cause analysis, and design of experiments
Advance manufacturing statistics knowledge - correlation, process optimization, hypothesis testing, coefficient of variance analysis, six sigma, and some statistical process control methodologies.
Education & Experience
Engineering/physics degree, post graduate level is an advantage.
10 years or equivalent, may consider exceptional candidates with below 10 years experience. Experience in semiconductor assembly, test and laser optics technology.
Skills
Problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand. Knowledge on problem solving methodologies such as 8D, RCA, Why-Why analysis, Hypothesis testing and validation, etc. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Understand line balance, scheduling, cycle times, and inventory control. Can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
With vision on product cost roadmap and cost reduction activities through alternative material qualifications and process improvements.
Adept in business processes like Engineering Change Review and Orders, Temporary Deviations, Process Qualification Reviews, and other related business processes that is relevant to current II-VI manufacturing operations. Be able to perform these processes in accordance with II-VI work systems and standards.
Must have the ability to lead cross-functional teams consisting of operators, technicians, and engineers. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
Able to interpret materials safety data sheets to create or form proper safety practices in each process. Keen to operations safety details considering health and safety of individuals as top priority in all actions.
Developed critical, strategic and tactical thinking and knows when to apply on situations.
Excellent team and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership ability and potential.
Minimum mid-level management experience to be able to handle the role.
