Responsibilities

• Operating Reach Truck: Safely operate the reach truck to move, lift, and stack materials in warehouse or storage environments.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from delivery trucks and storage locations, ensuring that products are handled carefully to prevent damage.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by scanning barcodes and updating inventory management systems during the movement of goods.
• Replenishment and Putaway Organize and store products in designated areas, maximizing space efficiency and ensuring easy access for retrieval.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on the reach truck, such as checking battery status, and report any malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of operations, including the movement of goods, equipment usage, and any incidents that occur during operations.
  
  
  

• Education:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is often preferred.
• Certification:
• A forklift or reach truck operator certification is usually required. This certification often includes both theoretical and practical training on safe operation.
• Experience:
• Previous experience operating a reach truck or similar equipment is often preferred, though some employers may provide on-the-job training.
• Physical Requirements:
• Good physical fitness is important, as the job may involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Skills:
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in handling and storing materials.
• Safety Awareness:
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to operating heavy machinery and working in a warehouse environment.
• Availability:
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the employers needs.
