About the role:
The Mold Process Chief Engineer is responsible for driving process excellence by leading cost, quality, yield, and productivity improvement initiatives within the Mold process. This role ensures stable and robust manufacturing processes through process capability enhancement, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The engineer also supports new process development, customer issue resolution, process standardization, and continuous improvement programs to achieve and exceed business KPIs.
What you will do:
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance cost, quality, yield, productivity, and process robustness within the Mold process.
Develop, optimize, and implement Mold processes using statistical tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Drive investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints, production issues, OQA findings, and other Mold-related quality concerns.
Own Mold yield performance by monitoring visual and mechanical defects, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring process stability.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and standardized workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment specifications, process standardization, customer audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
Conduct technical training, share best practices, and support the competency development of Mold Process Engineers.
Support production continuity and achieve business KPIs by driving process optimization and ensuring zero Mold process-related customer complaints.
What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in Semiconductor Assembly Engineering, preferably in Mold Process Engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of Mold processes, Mold equipment, tooling, process controls, and Epoxy Molding Compound (EMC) materials.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and engineering tools such as Minitab, JMP, SPC, DOE, FMEA, DFM, and structured problem-solving techniques.
Experience driving process optimization, yield improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a customer-focused mindset with strong leadership potential.
