About The Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to join our Charcoal Cook team for our upcoming restaurant in Ashburton. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the El Jannah experience, responsible for preparing and cooking our signature charcoal chicken safely, consistently and to recipe standards. You’ll play a key role in delivering the quality and authenticity our guests expect every time they visit. No previous experience is required. Full training is provided on the job, making this a great opportunity for someone keen to learn, build skills and be trusted with a key station in the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the charcoal pit safely and efficiently
• Cook charcoal chicken to El Jannah quality standards
• Portion and prepare chicken for service
• Maintain high food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Keep the charcoal station and surrounding work areas clean and organised
• Support smooth service flow during busy periods
• Work closely with the wider team to deliver a great guest experience the EJ Way
