Join Valmet as a Field Service Specialist within our Field Services Team.
In this role, you will work directly at customer sites worldwide, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, audits, and start-up support on key sections of the tissue machine. Your expertise and customer-oriented approach will directly contribute to improved machine performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys field work, problem-solving, and operating in dynamic and international environments.
You will work independently or together with other Valmet specialists, representing our service excellence on site.
Primary Location: Karlstad (Sweden). Additional locations that may be considered: Darwen (United Kingdom) and Zaragoza (Spain).
Your Responsibilities
- Perform field service activities on one or more tissue machine sections: Headbox, forming section, pressing area (including ViscoNip™), and reel.
- Carry out inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment adjustments, and technical audits.
- Support installation projects, start‑ups, shutdowns, and optimization activities.
- Prepare accurate service reports, technical documentation, and improvement recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with customer technical teams, ensuring clear communication and excellent service delivery.
- Support other services or project activities when required (maintenance, upgrades, measurement tasks).
- Maintain high safety awareness and follow Valmet safety guidelines during all site activities.
- Represent Valmet professionally, contributing to long-term, trust‑based customer relationships.
Expectations For You
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in Tissue Machine field with solid expertise in one of the following: – Headbox and forming section – Pressing area (including ViscoNip™) – Reel section operations and maintenance
- Strong mechanical and/or process competence proven through field service activities.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues, even under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and customer‑oriented approach, with the ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel more than 50% of the time (international and domestic).
- Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in basic reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Valid B driving licence.
