Your Role:

 

We are looking for a Planning Supervisor (Transitions) who will assist the Supply Chain Section Head in leading and managing all Optodev Planning activities for Transitions category. Responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of inventory and production planning processes, developing planners technical knowledge and competencies, and achieving Supply Chain performance metrics and targets. Drives and supports local and global continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

Planning & Inventory Management

  • Manages Supply Chain inventories, including Finished Goods (FG), substrates, and packaging materials, ensuring optimal inventory levels to support forecasted demand while meeting working capital objectives.
  • Oversees substrate ageing management in collaboration with suppliers to minimize inventory risks and obsolescence.
  • Leads and manages the setup and maintenance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements.
  • Computes, reviews, and maintains inventory targets, ensuring alignment between forecasted demand and actual inventory levels to minimize shortages and excess stocks.
  • Participates in and support the deployment, implementation, and continuous enhancement of planning systems and tools, including Oracle-based replenishment planning.
  • Manages Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, including replenishment planning, inventory monitoring, and KPI performance tracking.
  • Optimizes replenishment calculations and planning parameters to maximize production capacity utilization and inventory efficiency.
  • Monitors and publishes Supply Chain KPIs and performance reports on a regular basis.
  • Leads the resolution of cross-functional customer and supplier issues involving manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
  • Drives and participates in Supply Chain projects, including new product introductions, product transfers, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures healthy inventory levels of Optodev Plant 2 Distribution Center (DC) Finished Goods and Substrates through effective planning and replenishment strategies.
  • Manages and replenishes customer distribution center inventories to maintain target service levels.
  • Develops and maintains production replenishment plans to support Make-to-Stock (MTS) requirements.
  • Serves as the key user and administrator for Oracle ATS/DRP planning systems, ensuring data accuracy and system effectiveness.

Process Improvement & Project Management

  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, inventory optimization, service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Support and manage Supply Chain projects related to process standardization, automation, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction improvements.

People Management

  • Supervise and develop the Customer Planner team to ensure timely and accurate creation of Work Orders (WO) for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) replenishment and Make-to-Order (MTO) requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to planners to strengthen competencies and improve overall team performance.
  • Serve as the key user for ATS and lead the resolution of system-related issues concerning WO creation, order fulfillment, and backorder process improvements.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Safety & Company Policy Management

  • Ensure strict compliance with the Companys Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, standards, and requirements within the team.
  • Actively participate in safety programs, audits, risk assessments, and the implementation of corrective actions for audit findings.
  • Drive team compliance with mandatory EHS training and certification requirements.
  • Promote and sustain the implementation of the 5S program and continuous workplace organization initiatives.
  • Foster a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work culture.

 

A Portrait of a Perfect Candidate

 

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or any related field.

·  At least 3-5 years of experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or Production Planning in a manufacturing environment.

·  Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, demand planning, and supply chain processes.

·  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint).

·  Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or MFG Pro.

·  Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

·  APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
