Job Description

The Safety and Environment Supervisor is responsible in implementing safety programs in the workplaces with appropriate procedures. The purpose(s) is to eliminate unsafe practices, acts, conditions, materials and equipment losses in the workplaces.

He / She combines knowledge of systems engineering and safety to make sure that chemicals, machinery and consumer products will not cause harm to people of buildings.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements safety programs and recommends necessary enhancements.
  • Evaluates plans and technical specifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provides safety orientation to newly hired employees and project contractors on proper on-site work practices.
  • Facilitates safety-related trainings and seminars for plant personnel.
  • Ensures that buildings, facilities, or products adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly following inspections that require corrective actions.
  • Keeps up-to-date with current safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes and applies them accordingly.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections to identify hazards and assess control measures for facilities, machinery, equipment, and work processes.
  • Checks and confirms that fire detection and alarm systems, paging systems, firefighting tools, and emergency response equipment are properly maintained and functional.
  • Investigates workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to determine root causes and assess preventability.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of industrial control measures and safety procedures, including written and verbal reminders such as lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Organizes and manages Safety Committee meetings.
  • Ensures adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., DENR, LLDA, BFP, and local authorities).
  • Prepares and submits required reports to government agencies (DENR and LLDA) and secures the necessary permits.


Qualifications

  • A graduate of Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Environment / Health / Safety / Mechanical / Chemical) or equivalent.
  • Has at least 1 year of experience as Safety Supervisor or equivalent
  • Preferably with BOSH certification
  • Good understanding of Food Safety, ISO 9001, cGMP, HACCP and HALAL Principles and Standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work in flexible time schedule and can handle work pressure.
