Job Description

The MRM Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Material Recovery Management (MRM) area, ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant sorting, recovery, and processing of exchange breads and related materials. This role leads frontline teams, optimizes workflows, maintains accurate records, and ensures adherence to company standards, food safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Process Management

  • Oversee daily MRM operations including receiving, sorting, recovery, and processing of exchange breads and materials.
  • Ensure operations meet productivity targets, quality standards, and turnaround timelines.
  • Implement efficient traffic and workflow systems for sales personnel, truckers, and authorized hailers to minimize queuing and delays.
  • Ensure FIFO compliance in bread packaging and hauling to prevent residual waste.

People & Team Leadership

  • Prepare and monitor daily manpower schedules aligned with operational needs.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to subordinates to improve performance and teamwork.
  • Conduct training on proper sorting methods, safety procedures, and distribution practices.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and pest-free workplace conducive to employee productivity.
  • Monitor the quality of sorted materials to minimize rejection and meet end-user standards.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of returns (BO, unsold breads, trade items) and track their disposition and movement.
  • Prepare regular reports on material recovery rates, tonnage hauled, operational efficiency, and department performance.
  • Maintain and update shared records and trackers using Google Sheets or similar tools.

Cost & Resource Optimization

  • Help control operational costs by optimizing labor, equipment usage, and material handling processes.
  • Ensure recyclable and non-recyclable waste is scheduled for regular hauling or pull-out.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Market Info, Logistics, Warehouse, and other interfacing departments to resolve operational concerns.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the MRM team and management, ensuring clear and timely communication.

Other Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or similar operations environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, SSOP, 5S, Food Safety, Halal, and HACCP is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP or Sales Systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
