The Opportunity:

• Strategic Visionary: Contribute directly to the global Pharma Biosample Services (PBS) strategy, identifying high-impact technologies and process improvements with a long-term planning horizon
• End-to-End Ownership: Take full accountability for all laboratory activities, ensuring operational excellence in sample receipt, tracking, accessioning, and high-quality processing
• Leadership and Mentorship: Direct and line-manage a multi-disciplinary team of Scientific Researchers, providing coaching and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
• Scientific Innovation: Design and oversee complex scientific experiments and workflows, ensuring technical precision and high-caliber outcomes that drive clinical research forward
• Advanced Technology Integration: Lead the implementation of advanced laboratory automation and integrated technologies to enhance productivity and maintain a competitive edge
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal and external service providers, researchers, and study teams to decide on optimal sample processing pathways and resource allocation
• Regulatory Stewardship: Ensure strict adherence to GCP/GCLP compliant processes and local health and safety (EHS) rules, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and sample quality
• Operational Management: Manage large-scale projects, budgets, and resource prioritization, demonstrating a sophisticated approach to balancing technical needs with business objectives
  
  

Who you are:

• Educated and Experienced Leader: You hold an MSc or PhD in Science or Healthcare with at least 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an academic or industrial laboratory setting
• Molecular Expert: You possess significant expertise in LIMS systems and processing workflows, including molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, and quantitation
• Sample Management Authority: You have extensive knowledge of sample collection, storage, and processing protocols for various biological types within a regulated environment
• Strategic Thinker: You have a proven track record of contributing to functional strategies, setting long-term lab directions, and making global functional decisions
• Regulatory Guru: You demonstrate deep knowledge of GCP and GCLP standards and their specific application within clinical development and research activities
• Collaborative Communicator: You are an expert team player with the ability to build relationships, negotiate, and influence stakeholders and leadership at all levels of the organization
• Change Champion: You are a service-oriented leader who constantly seeks opportunities for innovation, with demonstrated experience in leading large-scale projects and change initiatives
