Manager, Product Quality Engineering (PQE)

What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for a Senior Factory Quality Engineer to ensure quality of our Electrical Vehicle Charging equipment. This engineer will be working closely with our contract manufacturing (CM) independently involved in Factory End-To-End Product Quality Control process and management system set up and development. The job scope will be from the initial product design phase throughout the sustaining mass production. He or she will work closely with our Technical Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Reliability Engineering teams, and our Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers. To be successful at ChargePoint, this person must be highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in a loosely structured and fast-paced environment.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Independently lead CM (Contract Manufacturer) End-To-End quality control, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), FATP in-process controls, Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT), and Out-Of-Box-Audits (OBA).
  • Act as the first point of contact for factory quality issues and drive cross-functional resolution as the Core Team Leader.
  • Lead crisis management at the CM related to factory and field escalations.
  • Manage factory quality issue escalations through structured FA/RCCA from NPI through mass production ramp and EOL.
  • Lead CM and cross-functional teams in developing and implementing inspections and test systems to ensure compliance with cosmetic and functional requirements.
  • Conduct factory quality and process audits for new and existing suppliers.
  • Drive CM yield and defect data reporting, perform Jira issue disposition reviews, and communicate key findings to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
  • Partner with CM and ChargePoint internal teams to define, implement, and maintain in‑process, outgoing, and incoming quality control processes in collaboration with SDQE (Supplier Development and Quality Engineering).
  • Familiarity with Python-based automated test scripts using manufacturing test equipment (e.g. Chroma, NH Research, Keysight, National Instruments).
  • Familiarity with automated test sequences that integrate software control with hardware systems — including programmable power supplies and loads, relays, and instrumentation — to enable fully automated manufacturing tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent English and Thai communication skills, including technical report writing, presenting technical content, and leading cross‑functional discussions.
  • 8+ years of experience in product quality or manufacturing engineering with a record of leadership at electronics Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
  • Experience in electronics industries such as automotive, consumer electronics, solar, electric vehicle (EV), or battery.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and components (PCBA, MOSFETs, Transformers, IGBTs, Capacitors, Relays, Cable Harness, etc.).
  • Experience with mechanical metrology and measurement tools (CMM, OMM, gauges, fixtures) for process capability (Cp/Cpk), First Article Inspection (FAI), and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR).
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools (Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys) and familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience in Mechanical and Electrical Design-for-Quality (DFQ) and Design for-Manufacturability (DFM). Ability to collaborate with design teams on DFX topics including Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Reliability (DFR).
  • Familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) processes, printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing, and system or sub-assembly build processes.
  • Experience with at least two of the data analysis tools Excel, Python, Tableau, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software integration or test automation with object-oriented programming in Python.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
