About The Job Machinist (ATP)

About the role:

To set up and operate a variety of machine shop tools and equipment (e.g., drill presses, lathes, power saws, grinder, milling machines, radial drills) in order to manufacture and repair precision parts and items of equipment.

Reporting to and taking direction from the Production Supervisor-Engineering, the tradesperson-Machinist is responsible for working with a team of employees to achieve minimum production time and maximum quality whilst maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes

• Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years' experience in shipbuilding Industry.
• At least high school or technical/vocational school graduate.
• At least 2 years' experience working in a machine shop.
