Quality Assurance Analyst

The Quality Assurance Analysts role is to develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization.

Under broad supervision, the Jr. QA Tester/Analyst will support the execution of test lifecycle deliverables per standard methodologies and procedures to ensure successful test strategy and plan implementation for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

While the intent may be long-term tenure, this position is subject to annual budget restrictions. The initial contract is through the end of the fiscal year and is anticipated to be renewed on July 1st, 2026.

Location: Local Atlanta candidates only

Work Mode: Hybrid - 2 days onsite

Duties / Responsibilities

• Experience in testing custom applications
• Experience in testing GIS components
• Create and document test plans, execute tests, analyze results, and report issues
• Work from the perspective of business end users
• Operate within an Agile framework
• Collaborate with business partners, PMO, and vendor technical teams
• Ensure testing is completed on time and report risks or bottlenecks
• Assist in developing UAT test scenarios
• Participate in defect triage meetings and demos
• Provide weekly status reports to QA Lead
  
  

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  
  

• 3-5 years of experience in software testing
• Experience in mid- to large-scale system development projects
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze system and business requirements
• Experience with manual and/or automated testing
• Experience creating Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM)
• Experience supporting UAT activities
• Experience documenting test cases and results
• Ability to prepare test data
• Experience with various testing types (system, regression, performance, security, etc.)
• Mobile testing experience is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented
• Strong collaboration skills across teams
• Experience with GitHub and ServiceNow
  
  

• Knowledge of QA concepts and best practices
• Experience writing manual test scripts and cases
• Experience executing application testing
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience with defect management tools
• Public sector experience preferred
  
  

• Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
• Certified Test Engineer (CSTE)
• Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
• Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ)
