Job Description

As part of our continuous growth, the Engineer and Customer Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical design and effective communication with various stakeholders, including project managers, site managers, project engineers, suppliers, sub-contractors, senior company executives, and management. You are a creative thinker, a problem solver with sound logic, and you possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will be the bridge between our technical team and our valued customers, ensuring their needs are met and providing expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle with a strong focus on customer engagement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

• Meet with current and prospective customers to understand their project needs, preferences, and challenges.
• Offer technical guidance and expertise to customers, addressing their queries and providing valuable insights during the sales process.
• Function as a liaison between the customer and the internal technical team, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, site managers, project engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain relevant information, address concerns, and provide timely updates on design progress.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical and analytical mindset.
• Up to date with new methods to bring time-saving solutions and innovation to customer processes and methods.
  
  

Project Support

• Work closely with project managers to ensure the timely delivery of drafts and documents.
• Provide ongoing support to customers throughout the project, addressing any changes or modifications required.
• Participate in design review meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Continuously seek ways to enhance drafting processes, efficiency, and quality.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering drafting techniques.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in engineering drafting technology, processes, and industry trends to implement improvements in design methodologies.
  
  

Technical Engineering Design And Drafting

• Develop detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, plans, and technical documentation using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Tekla, etc.).
• Provide design solutions for MEP-F (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire), HVAC, and structural systems in line with project requirements.
• Develop specifications for manufacture and determine materials, components, capacities, and layouts for plant, systems, and installations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Perform design modifications, revisions, and updates based on stakeholder feedback.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, material selection, cost analysis, and sustainability assessments.
  
  

Qualification and Requirments

Essential

Knowledge, Experience, and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Proven experience in technical drafting, preferably in mechanical design and engineering
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• A customer-centric approach and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Experience of success and delivering against targets
• Experience in delivering exceptional levels of customer service for clients
• Experience working in busy high-volume roles.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  
  

Desirable

• Construction industry experience would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
• Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft D365
• Working knowledge and experience using a CRM
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles or sales support.
• Knowledge of current building regulations and standards.
• Familiarity with project management principles.
• Understanding of BIM and/or 3D building software
• Proficiency in at least one 2D or 3D design software is required, such as Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other similar drafting and modeling platforms. Candidates should specify the software applications they have experience using.
