Role Overview
As our Accounts Payable Officer, you'll support the finance team across day-to-day accounts payable and general accounting activities. You'll process invoices, prepare payments, reconcile supplier statements, maintain accurate records, and help keep month-end and year-end close activities organised and on track.
Key Responsibilities
Process with Precision: Review and process supplier invoices accurately and in line with company policies.
Keep Payments on Track: Prepare and schedule supplier and vendor payments on time.
Reconcile the Details: Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and help resolve issues quickly.
Maintain Clean Records: Keep accounts payable transactions, filing systems, and financial documents accurate and organised.
Support Supplier Relationships: Assist with vendor management and respond to supplier queries professionally.
Help Close the Month: Support month-end and year-end activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Back the Finance Team: Assist with ad hoc analysis, reporting, audits, and other finance administration tasks as needed.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work with internal stakeholders to keep financial operations smooth, timely, and reliable.
Skills & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting support.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, SAP, Oracle, DEXT, Hubdoc, or similar tools.
Confident with Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong data entry accuracy.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and finance processes.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating well with a wider team.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
A practical, problem-solving mindset when handling discrepancies and follow-ups.
