Job Summary

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotations for custom manufacturing projects. Working collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production, you will evaluate customer drawings, specifications, materials, labor requirements, machine time, and manufacturing processes to develop competitive pricing that supports profitability and customer success. By focusing on excellence as an Inside Estimator, you will add significant value to our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom sheet metal fabrication projects as an Inside Estimator.
• Analyze material requirements, labor, machine time, tooling, and outsourced processes.
• Develop detailed quotations that align with customer requirements and company profitability goals.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Sales to determine the most efficient manufacturing approach.
• Source supplier pricing and lead times for materials and subcontracted services.
• Maintain estimating data, costing information, and quotation records within JobBoss ERP or a similar manufacturing ERP system.
• Review historical costing data to improve estimating accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage multiple RFQs and quotations while meeting customer and internal deadlines.
• Support Sales by providing technical and commercial information throughout the quotation process.
  
  

Requirments

• 2–4 years of experience as an Estimator in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Experience using JobBoss ERP or a similar ERP system (required).
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Experience preparing estimates using Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, labor, materials, and machine time.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
