Your Role
Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant supports the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulatory requirements. The role involves day-to-day bookkeeping, transaction processing, and assisting with monthly and year-end financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, and payments
- Post manual journal entries
- Load payments into internet bank
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Maintain accurate and organized filing of accounting documents
- Liaise with vendors and internal departments for documentation and payment concerns
- Perform other related administrative and finance tasks as may be assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping (fresh graduates may be considered)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software: MYOB, Quickbooks, Xero
- Familiarity with Australian tax regulations and financial reporting standards will be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
