Research Assistant Civil Engineering

Job Description

The Department of Civil Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University is inviting applications for a Research Assistant position to support ongoing research in water resources and hydrology. The selected candidate will be involved in processing remote sensing data and developing machine learning and numerical models. A strong background in hydrology and water resources is required.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field
• Basic knowledge of hydrology and groundwater systems
• Familiarity with remote sensing data (e.g., satellite data processing)
• Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar)
• Understanding of data analysis and modeling concepts
  
  

• Experience in research projects or academic environments
• Familiarity with software (e.g. MATLAB and Python)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
