Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with hands-on Zoho Books experience to support a large-scale bookkeeping cleanup project. This role focuses on organizing, categorizing, and reconciling historical financial data to prepare accurate records for tax filing. The engagement is project-based, with potential to transition into ongoing bookkeeping support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full bookkeeping cleanup using Zoho Books
  • Categorize a high volume of uncategorized transactions accurately
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Review and organize historical financial data for year-end readiness
  • Identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in transaction records
  • Maintain clean, well-documented financial records
  • Communicate directly with the practice owner regarding questions or clarifications
  • Ensure all work follows proper bookkeeping and accounting standards


Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience using Zoho Books
  • Strong bookkeeping fundamentals, including transaction categorization and reconciliation
  • Experience handling cleanup or catch-up bookkeeping projects
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently on structured cleanup tasks
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Comfortable working on a project-based engagement with defined deliverables


Scope

  • Initial focus on a prior-year cleanup project involving a large transaction volume
  • Engagement is project-based to start
  • Potential for transition to ongoing monthly or weekly bookkeeping support once cleanup is complete
  • Direct coordination with the practice owner throughout the engagement


Side note:

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional pay rate is based on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
