You’ll be the financial backbone for multiple clients, handling their books with precision while navigating Australia’s tax requirements. This role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and professional growth - you’ll master new software platforms regularly while ensuring compliance and accuracy. You’ll work directly with an experienced team that understands remote work and values adaptability, making this an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on variety and continuous learning.


Job Highlights

  • Hourly Rate: USD 4.73, the equivalent in your local currency
  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with 1-hour unpaid break
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries
  • Process Australian GST and BAS requirements with accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain client financial records using Xero and MYOB accounting systems
  • Learn and adapt to various add-on software programs used by different clients
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax law and reporting requirements
  • Communicate effectively with team members and provide client update
  • Process financial transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures


Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Australian tax law, specifically GST and BAS processing
  • Proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software platforms
  • Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities
  • Tech-savvy with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
  • Self-motivated learner who embraces new technology and processes
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Bonus if you have payroll processing experience
  • It helps if you’ve worked with multiple accounting software add-ons
