Job Overview


Our client is seeking an experienced Xero Bookkeeper (Australian Accounting) to lead an exciting software migration and manage ongoing bookkeeping and administrative operations. You will serve as the financial and administrative backbone during a critical practice management software transition, becoming the certified super user everyone leans on. You will take ownership of the entire bookkeeping function using Xero, manage the chart of accounts setup, and ensure a smooth go-live by late July. Beyond the implementation, you will handle accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoice management, and provide backup administrative support to the clinic team.


Schedule


Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST (40 work hours per week)


Responsibilities


  • Complete Xero training videos and become the certified super user for the new practice management software before the go-live date.
  • Set up and manage the chart of accounts in the new system working alongside the existing team.
  • Handle all accounts receivable including invoice entry, follow-ups, and collections.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in Xero.
  • Manage BAS and superannuation compliance for Australian payroll requirements.
  • Provide backup administrative support to the reception and admin team during sick days or overflow periods.
  • Respond to queries about the new practice management system and guide team members through processes.


Requirements


  • Xero certified or completed official Xero training coursework.
  • Bookkeeping experience with at least 3 to 5 years in the role.
  • Experience working with Australian companies including BAS and superannuation knowledge.
  • Proven ability to learn new software systems quickly and become a power user.
  • Strong accounts receivable and reconciliation experience.
  • Available to start immediately to complete training prior to the late July go-live date.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
