Job Description

The Workshop Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of a workshop by overseeing the day-to-day tasks and projects. This position involves coordinating and supervising the activities of workshop staff, ensuring that all equipment is used properly and safely, and maintaining high standards of workmanship. The Workshop Supervisor needs to have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate effectively with both employees and management. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the workshop to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Assign tasks and projects to staff based on skill set and experience levels.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety guidelines and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment functionality and safety through regular inspections.
  • Plan and conduct training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement practical solutions to optimize workshop processes.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely supply of necessary materials.
  • Facilitate communication between management and workshop employees to relay feedback.
  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
  • Maintain records of workshop activities, inventory, and staff performance evaluations.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes that arise among workshop staff promptly.
  • Lead periodic safety meetings and ensure compliance with occupational health standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar workshop supervisory role.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in workshop operations.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills with a focus on team development.
  • Proficiency in using workshop tools, equipment, and relevant software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to relay complex information clearly.
  • Capability to handle workplace conflicts, demonstrating fairness and professionalism.
