Overview

We are seeking an experienced US Residential Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential construction projects. This role plays a critical part in project planning, budgeting, and proposal development by ensuring all estimates align with project requirements and industry standards.

Job Highlights

Monthly Rate: Equivalent of USD 2,125 in the applicants local currency

Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST (with 1-hour unpaid break)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Side Note

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an Independent Contractor, the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are based on hourly rates, and the final rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Source and compare prices for materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather accurate data.
• Prepare bid proposals and ensure timely submission to clients.
• Update cost databases and maintain records of past projects for reference.
• Monitor project budgets and support in cost-control efforts.

Scope:

• Provide accurate cost estimates that guide project planning and client proposals.
• Ensure all estimates align with project specifications and industry standards.
• Support project managers in tracking budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving estimation processes and maintaining a competitive edge.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or trades industry.
• Must have 10 years of experience in project estimation, with 2–3 years of US-based residential experience
• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to articulate their expertise well
• MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WITH TIME TRACKING TOOLS
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
• Negotiation skills for working with suppliers and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Background in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
