Role Description

Trust and Safety Analysts are responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of all accounts that sign up and fundraise on Givebutter. This will include reviewing campaigns at the creation level for potential content abuse and/or fraudulent behavior, monitoring money movement between donors and campaign owners to prevent financial crimes at any scale, reviewing user behavior to prevent fraud and account takeovers, as well as handling escalations submitted by customers, donors, and the customer support team.

Trust & Safety Analysts protect the trust that underpins every interaction on Givebutter by serving on the frontline of safeguarding our customers, their supporters, and Givebutter’s brand. They investigate fundraising campaigns, accounts, and transactions when risk signals emerge, applying sound judgment in complex or ambiguous situations while consistently enforcing Trust & Safety policies. Trust & Safety Analysts also handle sensitive escalations from customers, donors, and the Customer Support team with empathy, clarity, and professionalism, helping ensure Givebutter remains a safe, credible, and trustworthy platform for generosity.

This is a direct-hire, permanent position. You will be an employee of Givebutter via an EoR called Deel.

Pay rate: PHP 707/hour

Paid training schedule: Monday - Friday; 9A - 6P Eastern time for 3 months (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities 💻

  • Investigate fundraising campaigns, accounts, and transactions when risk signals indicate potential policy violations, prohibited content, fraud, or abuse
  • Review account activity and fund flows to identify and mitigate fraud, misuse, or financial crime risks
  • Respond to and resolve Trust & Safety escalations from customers, donors, and the Customer Support team in a timely, empathetic, and well-documented manner
  • Apply Givebutter’s Trust & Safety policies consistently while exercising sound judgment in edge cases and ambiguous scenarios
  • Document investigations, decisions, and enforcement actions clearly to support audits, appeals, handoffs, and internal knowledge sharing
  • Communicate directly with users and suspected bad actors in a clear, professional manner, including issuing warnings, enforcing account restrictions, and supporting account offboarding when necessary
  • Support nonprofit verification, account recovery, and identity verification efforts by validating organizational and account ownership and assessing associated risk
  • Monitor for recurring abuse patterns or emerging fraud vectors and escalate insights or concerns to Trust & Safety leadership
  • Stay current on evolving fraud tactics, platform abuse trends, and relevant payments or compliance considerations

Requirements 📚

  • 3+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk Operations, Payments Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience in Customer Support involving complex escalations, investigations, or risk assessment
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess risk, synthesize incomplete or ambiguous information, and make sound, defensible decisions
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain decisions, reasoning, and next steps to both internal teams and users
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple investigations and priorities simultaneously
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence when handling sensitive or high-stress situations involving customers, donors, or nonprofit organizations
  • Ability to apply Trust & Safety policies consistently while exercising judgment in nuanced or edge-case scenarios
  • Interest in online safety, financial integrity, and protecting communities on digital platforms, including a willingness to stay informed on evolving risks and abuse trends
  • Must be a citizen of the Philippines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Agents must provide their own computer and stable internet connection (2nd monitor recommended)
