Job Overview

This is a remote tax preparation role supporting U.S. clients. You will prepare and review individual and business tax returns using Drake Tax and QuickBooks Online. This role requires prior hands-on experience with Drake Tax and the ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines during tax season.

Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $8.00 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns
• Use Drake Tax for accurate tax preparation, review, and filing
• Review and reconcile financial data in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Ensure compliance, accuracy, and proper documentation for all returns
• Follow established workflows and internal checklists
• Meet deadlines consistently, especially during peak tax periods
• Communicate clearly with the team regarding questions or discrepancies

Requirements

• Proven experience preparing U.S. tax returns (1040 and business)
• Drake Tax experience is required
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable following documented processes in a remote setup
• Reliable internet connection and professional home office
