Job Description

The Supply Chain Head in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector plays a critical role in ensuring that products move seamlessly from suppliers to consumers. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of supply chain complexities, logistics, and inventory management. The individual will leverage their expertise to optimize supply chain operations, reduce costs, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FMCG supply chain network. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain dynamics, proficiency in leveraging technology for supply chain improvements, and experience with managing cross-functional teams. As a leader, the Supply Chain Head will work closely with various stakeholders, including procurement, marketing, and sales teams, to meet business objectives and drive growth. They must be adept at anticipating challenges and devising solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aimed at improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure a reliable flow of materials and products.
  • Utilize data and analytics to forecast demand and plan inventory levels.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations through process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the supply chain and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements in all supply chain activities.
  • Develop contingency plans to manage risks and disruptors in the supply chain.
  • Continuously assess and integrate innovative technologies to improve supply chain processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within FMCG.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and logistics within the FMCG industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and technologies for process optimization.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle complex supply chain challenges capably.
