We are seeking a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to build products in the M&A ecosystem. Youll be a trusted thought partner - making an impact by supporting the organization in developing next-generation technologies and experiences that connect buyers, sellers & different personas in the M&A ecosystem. As a member of our engineering team, you will be leading the development initiatives in growing our company and directly impacting the future of our platform and product roadmap. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, In this role, you will work & own end-to-end features of our platform - starting from ideating, scoping, designing the architecture, and developing the front-end to building the back-end and infrastructure pieces of our platform, ensuring a seamless user experience and robust functionality.

The ideal candidate for this role is an engineer with end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC) experience who wants to merge their passion for technical excellence with their passion for building something new, great, robust & scalable in a challenging startup environment. You need a vision to make a big impact for BizScout buyers, sellers, brokers, partners, and clients. You must have a love of Main Street over wall street. In addition to possessing the technical chops needed to execute on the day-to-day, you will need to demonstrate a creative approach in solving different problems, collaborating closely with the engineering, product, supply & marketing team to ensure functional, technical, and aesthetic appeal. Above all, you value autonomy & have a relentless bias for taking action with an end-to-end ownership.

What your day-to-day would look like

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain iterative, incremental improvements across all BizScout platforms and products, resulting in high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver impactful initiatives
• Manage individual initiatives, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise & pragmatic thinking.
• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Work with AWS cloud services & CI/CD pipelines to deploy and manage applications.
• Mentor other team members and help many increase their technical capabilities, fostering a culture of forwardness, results-oriented execution, open innovation, and creativity
• The ability to translate business requirements into functional & technical requirements, break them down & deliver incremental value.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices. 
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving bugs or issues reported by users or QA testers.
• Rotational on-call & support duties.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance your skills and contribute innovative ideas to the team.

What you’ll bring to the table

• Ideally 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying & maintaining cloud-native, distributed software systems end to end in production.
• 3+ years of full stack experience with NodeJs & Javascript/Typescript based applications, running on AWS.
• Experience Developing full stack applications with React, NextJs, TailwindCss, Typescript & serverless on Vercel.
• Previous experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) & automated testing
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) & Functional programming concepts with an understanding of the tradeoffs.
• Familiarity with Domain Driven Development (DDD), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) & RESTful web services.
• Ability to dive deep into a monolithic application and an unfamiliar codebase to make changes, refactor, test & improve the state of the application.
• Experience with Agentic coding tools
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• A genuine interest in learning other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, tools & technologies.
• Experience with NestJs/ExpressJs is a huge plus.
• Experience with Security, AuthN/AuthZ & OAuth is a huge plus.
• Experience with IAC (Infrastructure As Code) & CI/CD pipelines is a huge plus.
• Experience with high growth startups is a huge plus.

• Youve started owning a product feature end-to-end
• Youre developing a product feature end-to-end with other engineers in the team
• Youre actively participating in code reviews, documentations & scrum ceremonies

30 days

• You’re comfortable with the codebase & can figure out the core systems by yourself independently.
• You’ve already shipped 1-2 features, have taken a lead on a feature where your peers are depending on you.
• You’re already an expert in 1-2 product & engineering domains & are leading the discussions + initiatives.
• You’ve identified bottle necks/optimization problems/tech debts in the system & taking proactive approach to resolve them

Compensation

USD $1000-3000/month, depending on experience & skills

Location

Fully remote. Our current Engineering team is distributed across US, Canada, Bangladesh & Philippines

Note: This role requires being available during regular business hours in CST timezone (from 10am-3pm CST) with a mix of sync & asyc collaboration.
