Social Media Manager Core Responsibilities
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Role OverviewThe Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, creating, coordinating, scheduling, managing, and improving Surfers Jewelry’s social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Youtube , Pinterest, and other active brand platforms as assigned.
This role is expected to keep content moving at a strong pace without sacrificing quality, maintain a proactive content pipeline, ensure brand consistency, support community engagement, and use performance insights to improve results over time.
Key Responsibilities1. Social Media Planning & Calendar Management
- Own and manage the social media content calendar across assigned platforms
- Plan content around campaigns, launches, promotions, founder content, influencer content, and evergreen brand storytelling
- Maintain at least two weeks of approved and scheduled content in advance
- Keep the calendar organized, updated, and visible to the team
2. Content Ideation & Proactive Planning
- Proactively generate content ideas from existing assets, customer content, influencer content, Jessica’s founder content, trends, and campaign needs
- Identify content gaps early and recommend what needs to be filmed, requested, edited, or created next
- Bring ideas forward consistently instead of waiting for direction
- Help build a strong mix of product, founder, educational, community, and conversion-driven content
3. Content Creation, Quality & Speed of Execution
- Ensure content is created, edited, prepared, and moved through review on time
- Maintain strong standards for content quality, clarity, relevance, and platform fit
- Balance speed with quality so content is delivered efficiently without feeling rushed or off-brand
- Help prevent delays, missed posting windows, and last-minute content scrambling
4. Brand Alignment & Creative Consistency
- Reflect Surfers Jewelry’s brand voice and positioning: confident, direct, elevated, inclusive, and rooted in real product truth
- Align messaging with the brand’s durability, thoughtful design, originality, and real-life wearability
- Highlight key brand differentiators when relevant
- Follow Surfers Jewelry’s visual brand guidelines across all content, including approved fonts, colors, layout direction, and overall design standards
- Ensure consistency across all social media content and brand touchpoints
5. Scheduling, Publishing & Platform Management
- Schedule and publish approved content accurately and on time
- Manage captions, tags, links, formatting, and posting details across platforms
- Help maintain consistent posting cadence and strong execution across all assigned channels
- Monitor platform activity and ensure content is optimized for each channel, not just cross-posted without thought
6. Community Engagement & Social Presence
- Support daily engagement through comments, messages, interactions, and other assigned engagement tasks
- Help maintain an active, responsive, and brand-aligned presence on social media
- Flag customer questions, community feedback, influencer opportunities, and notable audience insights
- Support stronger audience connection and brand trust through consistent engagement
7. Reporting, Analysis & Re-Strategizing
- Submit regular weekly and monthly social media performance reports
- Track key metrics such as reach, engagement, saves, shares, follower growth, profile activity, traffic, and top-performing content
- Analyze what content is performing well, what is underperforming, and why
- Use insights to recommend adjustments to content strategy, posting approach, content mix, and creative direction
- Re-strategize based on performance instead of repeating content that is not working
8. General Social Media Management Support
- Stay aware of platform trends, content opportunities, and best practices
- Support other day-to-day social media tasks needed to keep the brand organized, visible, and growing
- Communicate blockers, asset needs, and timeline risks early
- Contribute to improving workflow, execution, and overall social media performance
9. Influencer Marketing & Affiliate Program Support
- Assist in identifying, vetting, and outreaching to relevant influencers and content creators — from nano to mid-tier — who align with the brand values and target audience
- Repurpose approved influencer and UGC content across organic social channels to maximize content volume and social proof
- Track influencer campaign performance — reach, engagement, story views, link clicks, discount code usage, and attributed sales
- Maintain an organized influencer and affiliate database (contact info, tier, platform, rates, past performance, content links)
- Proactively identify new partnership opportunities — brand collaborations, ambassador candidates, and community advocates
