Senior US Tax Reviewer Drake Tax And Quickbooks

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a seasoned tax professional to help clear a backlog of 50–75 business tax returns and lead their transition into a modern QBO workflow. You will serve as the "final set of eyes" on tax returns and act as a mentor to help junior staff grow. This role is ideal for a "closer" who enjoys the review process and possesses the technical expertise to bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern accounting software.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Tax Review: Take the lead on reviewing 1065 (Partnerships) and 1120-S (S-Corps) returns already prepared in Drake Tax to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Systems Setup: Facilitate the transition of clients from a legacy system (EasyACT) into QuickBooks Online, including setting up bank feeds and classifying data to match historical records.
• Team Leadership: Train and mentor junior employees to improve their tax preparation skills and overall technical knowledge.
• Client Engagement: Lead client meetings using professional communication to discuss tax positions and financial data.
• Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of accuracy, catching small details and ensuring all filings meet compliance standards.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of US Personal and Business Tax experience
• Highly proficient in Drake Tax and QuickBooks Online
• Strong "closer" mindset with a focus on detailed review and efficiency
• Proven ability to manage complex data migrations between accounting platforms
