Job Overview

A respected and growing accounting firm specializing in individuals, business owners, and high-net-worth clients is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join their expanding Tax Advisory Services team. This senior-level role goes beyond tax preparation—you will help clients implement strategies for tax reduction, retirement planning, and long-term financial success. This position is best suited for candidates with 3+ years of progressive experience preparing complex tax returns.


Client Overview

The firm provides comprehensive tax advisory services for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and estates, with a focus on strategic planning and high-net-worth clients. The team emphasizes client relationships, proactive strategies, and professional growth for staff members.


Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST
  • 1-hour unpaid break
  • Remote work available (Houston, USA)


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and estates
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning to reduce client liabilities
  • Manage and mentor junior tax staff, assisting with workflow and scheduling
  • Represent clients during IRS and state audits, preparing correspondence and supporting documentation
  • Deliver tax strategies directly to clients and help grow client relationships
  • Identify process improvements and assist in training team members


Requirements

  • 3+ years preparing complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and businesses
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, deductions, payroll, depreciation, and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Adobe; experience with UltraTax CS is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • CPA designation or studying for CPA is a plus; Enrolled Agent credential is a plus
  • Excellent client service skills and a proactive, strategic mindset

Side Note
