Senior Tax Advisor

Overview:

A respected and growing accounting firm specializing in business owners and high-net-worth clients is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Advisor. This role focuses on high-level tax reduction strategies, retirement planning, and complex return preparation to ensure long-term financial success for clients.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST (1-hour unpaid break)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and estates
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning to reduce client liabilities
• Manage and mentor junior tax staff, assisting with workflow and scheduling
• Represent clients during IRS and state audits, preparing correspondence and supporting documentation
• Deliver tax strategies directly to clients and help grow client relationships
• Identify process improvements and assist in training team members

Requirements

• 3+ years preparing complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and businesses
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, deductions, payroll, depreciation, and reporting requirements
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Adobe; experience with UltraTax CS is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• CPA designation or studying for CPA is a plus; Enrolled Agent credential is a plus
• Excellent client service skills and a proactive, strategic mindset

• This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
