We’re looking for a senior software engineer (full stack) to help us build a next-generation Running Coach app that blends sports science, data, and AI to help runners train smarter and stay healthy. About the Project

We’re building a personalized running coach designed for runners who want more than generic training plans.

The app focuses on:

• Personalized training plans based on real data (pace, heart rate, power, recovery, fatigue)
• Long-term aerobic development and injury prevention
• Clear, explainable feedback—not black-box coaching
• Seamless integration with modern wearables and training workflows

Our goal is to build a coach that adapts over time—learning from each runner’s training history, physiology, and goals.

Why We’re Building This

Most running apps:

• Rely on fixed plans that don’t adapt well
• Over-optimize for short-term performance
• Fail to explain why a runner should train a certain way

We believe:

• Endurance performance is built over years, not weeks
• Data should empower runners, not overwhelm them

This project is about building a trustworthy, long-term training companion for runners.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build core features of a data-driven running coach app
• Work on both frontend and backend systems (full stack)
• Build and evolve training logic (plans, adaptations, fatigue/recovery signals)
• Integrate data from wearables (e.g., GPS, heart rate, power, HRV)
• Collaborate closely with the founder on product direction and coaching philosophy
• Lay the technical foundation for personalization and AI-assisted coaching
• Contribute to early architectural decisions with high ownership

Experience We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building production web or mobile applications
• Strong experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
• Experience with modern frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, or similar)
• Backend experience (APIs, data modeling, async systems)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and databases (Firebase / Firestore, or equivalents)
• Interest in fitness, endurance sports, or quantified-self products (highly preferred)

Nice to have (but not required):

• Experience with mobile apps (iOS / Android or cross-platform)
• Experience working with time-series or sensor data
• Basic knowledge of sports science concepts (HR zones, LT, VO₂max, fatigue, recovery)
• Experience incorporating AI/ML models into consumer products
