Role Overview

We are seeking a senior, highly self-directed SaaS engineer to join a growing product team building and scaling production SaaS applications. This role requires someone who is not only technically strong, but also proactive, communicative, and highly accountable in a remote environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and maintaining production-grade SaaS MVPs, improving system architecture, and collaborating closely with a technical founder who values visibility, documentation, and follow-through.

Core Responsibilities

Engineering & Delivery

• Build, iterate, and maintain production SaaS applications and MVPs
• Develop backend services using Node.js and Python
• Design and implement clean, scalable APIs
• Take ownership of features from concept to deployment
• Ensure high code quality, reliability, and maintainability
  
  

Communication & Self-Management

• Proactively communicate progress, blockers, and next steps
• Keep task boards, documentation, and time tracking up to date
• Translate ambiguous requirements into clear execution plans
• Collaborate closely with the founder and product stakeholders
  
  

AI-Enabled Development

• Actively use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, internal AI workflows) to:
• Accelerate development
• Improve documentation
• Assist with debugging, research, and refactoring
• Demonstrate sound judgment when using AI (accuracy > speed)
  

Technical Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Node.js
• Python
• Proven experience building production SaaS products or MVPs
• Experience designing and consuming APIs
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
