About the Client

Our client is an Australian ecological consulting firm that helps organizations navigate environmental challenges through data-driven science and technology. Their team of ecologists, researchers, and technologists works with industries, government bodies, and environmental groups to deliver services such as wildlife surveys, habitat restoration, population analysis, and ecological monitoring. By combining academic research with modern tools like drone surveying, statistical modelling, and advanced data analysis, the company provides actionable insights that support responsible development while protecting biodiversity and natural ecosystems.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Content Strategist to join our client’s founding team. In this role, you will be the Storyteller and the bridge between high-level academic research and the public eye. Your mission is to take "boring" scientific manuscripts and complex technical data (like drone animal surveying or reptile ecology) and translate them into compelling, high-impact narratives that command attention on LinkedIn, X, and the client’s digital platforms, as you will work directly with the Co-Founders to drive the narratives.

Work hours: Monday to Friday. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm AEDT/AEST (6:00 am to 3:00 pm PHT)

Work set-up: Remote

What you’ll do

• Narrative Strategy: Own the content roadmap. You won’t just be told what to write; you will identify the stories within our R&D projects and decide how and where they should be told.
• Technical Translation: Repurpose academic papers, R&D reports, and project updates into "palatable" marketing content, project showcases, and blog posts that a non-expert can understand and enjoy.
• Multi-Platform Execution: Create and manage high-quality text-based content for LinkedIn, our website, and X (formerly Twitter) to position our founders as industry authorities.
• Website Copywriting: Lead the copy development for our new website, ensuring the "Project Showcase" and "R&D" sections are engaging, clear, and professional.
• Brand Voice Advocacy: Ensure our brand remains relaxed, innovative, and "true blue" while maintaining the high-quality standards expected by government and private sector clients.

What You Bring

• Background: At least 5 years of experience in Copywriting, Content Strategy, Branding, Journalism and similar industries
• Exceptional Copywriting Skills: You are a master of tone. You can write like a scientist one hour and a brand strategist the next.
• A "Big Thinker" Mindset: You look at what we are doing today and strategize how to leverage it for a major narrative shift six months from now.
• Startup Agility: You are comfortable with movement. You dont need to be "spoon-fed" tasks and are happy to pivot priorities as the business grows.
• Technical Literacy: You have a foundational understanding of (or a deep curiosity for) environmental science, ecology, or tech. You arent afraid of data or academic abstracts.
• Modern Toolset: Experience with (or a quick ability to learn) CMS platforms (Sanity/Contentful) and basic analytics tools (PostHog/Google Analytics).
• Integrity with AI: You know how to use AI as a tool, but your unique voice and strategic thinking are what drive the final output. You pride yourself on original, thought-provoking work.
