Senior AU Architect ArchiCAD

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a highly capable and detail-oriented Architect to join their Brisbane-based architectural practice in a remote capacity. The role focuses on producing detailed construction drawings and coordinating with various consultants to ensure the original design intent is carried through to final documentation. This position will begin as part-time with the intention of transitioning to full-time based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Drafting & Design: Produce detailed construction architectural drawings and designs using ArchiCAD for residential projects, including houses, townhouses, and apartments.
• Consultant Coordination: Liaise with and coordinate drawings from structural, civil, hydraulic, traffic, interior, and landscape consultants to produce holistic documentation sets.
• Design Integrity: Ensure original design intents developed by directors are accurately reflected in detailed documentation through rigorous review of consultant reports and drawings.
• Visual Communication: Produce 3D render images via Twinmotion, Photoshop, or similar software to support project visualization.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all drawing documentation while adapting to potential future software transitions (e.g., ArchiCAD to Revit).
• Remote Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the core team in Australia, providing regular progress updates and participating in meetings.

Requirements

• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in ArchiCAD (non-negotiable); knowledge of Revit, rendering, and graphic software is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 15-20 years of experience in the architectural or building industry, with a strong background in residential documentation workflows.
• Communication: Clear, fluent English with the ability to communicate confidently in meetings and through written instructions.
• Work Style: Highly attentive to detail, responsive, and able to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
• Infrastructure: Must have a professional home office setup, including a high-performance computer capable of handling architectural software and a reliable internet connection.

Qualifications

• Completed architectural degree (B.Arch or equivalent) is preferred.
• Previous remote/offshore experience working with overseas architectural firms is highly preferred.
• Experience with Australian NCC (National Construction Code), local council requirements, and residential construction standards is an advantage.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
