About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our clients Finance team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all financial transactions are recorded according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. You will lead monthly and yearly closes, provide technical support to junior associates, and act as a subject matter expert in key strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

• Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm AEDT/AEST (8:00 am to 2:00 pm PHT).
• Work set-up: Remote, PH.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Closes: Lead the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and manage month-end consolidation.
• GL Management: Perform daily general ledger accounting tasks, including reconciliations (bank, payment channels, Xero, and intercompany) and adjustment journals.
• Operations Support: Review purchase orders against invoices, process payments, and manage customer returns and refunds.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare tax returns, manage annual financial audits, and ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely.
• Strategic Support: Prepare cash flow forecasting, consolidate budget files, and support business leaders in revenue growth and cost-saving initiatives.
• Mentorship: Provide coaching and technical support to junior associates and develop effective reports to support business needs.

What You Bring

• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Experience: 10+ years of accounting experience, specifically within a retail or e-commerce environment.
• Market Knowledge: Previous experience working in the AU, US, HK, or NZ markets.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in financial accounting, treasury, tax, internal controls, and process improvement.
• Software Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and accounting techniques; experience with Xero is a significant plus.
• Leadership: People leadership experience is preferred; you should be comfortable acting as a finance business partner to senior leadership.
