Job Highlights

Schedule: 40 hours per week; 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Eastern Time with a paid 30-minute break, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting tasks for diverse business and individual clients
  • Conduct general ledger cleanup, reconciliation, and maintenance in QuickBooks Online
  • Create detailed work papers and documentation for tax preparation teams
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for client review
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Review balance sheets and flag potential issues or negative balances requiring attention
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure all documentation meets professional standards
  • Communicate proactively with firm leadership about project status and any concerns
  • Collaborate on complex client matters while maintaining independent work approach


Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as an accountant
  • Advanced accounting knowledge with proven experience in full-cycle accounting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and financial statement preparation
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work
  • Professional communication skills and transparent work style
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
  • Bonus if you have experience with tax preparation workflows or multi-client environments
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools and client communication is a plus


Side note:

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional pay rate is based on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
