Senior Accountant Insurance Industry

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Offshore Accountant to join our newly formed accounting and advisory practice. This full-time role is crucial for building our team and expanding our capacity, particularly to achieve round-the-clock service capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a senior professional with approximately five years of experience, capable of handling diverse accounting tasks and contributing to both recurring and project-based client work.

Schedule

• Mon to Fri - US EST

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly accounting for insurance companies.
• Complete quarterly reporting requirements.
• Engage in various project-based work, including controller or CFO-level projects.
• Handle required regulatory calculations.
• Manage and summarize large datasets from different sources for data calls, adhering to specific templates and formats for state requirements.
• Contribute to financial modeling, M&A activities, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and cash flow projections.
• Collaborate with the US-based team, ensuring initial overlap in working hours to facilitate seamless integration and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Approximately five years of experience in an accounting role, preferably at an associate or manager level.
• Strong background in accounting principles and practices.
• Experience within the insurance industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, regulatory calculations, and data summarization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Comfortable with a full-time work schedule (40 hours per week).
• Openness to working across different time zones to support round-the-clock operations.
• Insurance and statutory accounting experience is a plus
