Job Description

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial health and reporting responsibilities of our organization. This role demands an experienced professional who can oversee accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive accounting knowledge, and a commitment to driving financial integrity and efficiency within the company. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to provide insights that facilitate informed decision-making and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations. Your expertise will also be pivotal in mentoring junior team members and supporting the finance department's overall objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entirety of the general accounting functions and responsibilities.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial reporting standards and regulations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Reconcile all accounts and perform monthly balance sheet and P&L analysis.
  • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with departments for accurate forecasting.
  • Facilitate internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant documents and data.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure development and productivity.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on ad hoc projects and financial initiatives.
  • Communicate financial results and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Professional accounting certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
