Residential Renovation Drafter 2D Plans 3D Renders

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and creative Residential Renovation Drafter | 2D Plans | 3D Renders to support their renovation and estimating team with the preparation of initial 2D floor plans and high-quality 3D renders for residential renovation projects. This role is an important part of the client experience and internal workflow, helping bring renovation concepts to life visually while also supporting accurate estimating and onsite execution. The successful candidate will work closely with estimating, showroom, and project teams to ensure drawings and renders are updated, accurate, and visually representative of the final design intent.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sydney (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

1. Initial 2D Floor Plans

• Create basic 2D sketch floor plans from supplied site measurements, photos, and markups
• Prepare clear layout drawings for use within our estimating/take-off software
• Ensure room dimensions, fixtures and layouts are accurately represented
• Amend plans as revisions and client changes occur
• Maintain organised digital files and version control

2. 3D Rendering & Visualisation

• Produce realistic 3D renders of bathrooms and renovation spaces for all scheduled showroom appointments
• Update renders based on selected materials, layouts, and fixtures
• Create visually appealing renders that help clients understand and visualise their future space
• Update renders throughout the design process to reflect changes and selections
• Ensure final renders align as closely as possible with approved plans and specifications
• Prepare final rendering packages for both client presentation and onsite construction reference

3. Team Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with estimators, designers, and project coordinators
• Follow internal processes, templates, and file naming systems
• Meet required turnaround times for quoting and client presentation deadlines
• Communicate clearly regarding progress, required information, or design clarifications

4. Continuous Improvement & Software Knowledge

• Stay up-to-date with the latest software updates, tools, features, and rendering capabilities within the programs used by the company
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date product libraries within company software platforms, including fixtures, finishes, materials, and supplier products, to ensure all plans and renders reflect current selections and specifications
• Continuously develop knowledge and skills to improve workflow efficiency, drawing quality, and rendering output
• Proactively identify new features or processes that could improve presentation quality, accuracy, or team productivity
• Ensure company systems and software are being utilised to their full capability, where possible

Requirements

• Experience using drafting/rendering software such as Homestyler, Coohom, SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Planner5D, Floorplanner, or similar programs
• Ability to interpret sketches, measurements, and design notes
• Good understanding of residential layouts and spatial planning
• Professional written English communication
• Creative eye for interiors and presentation
• Open to feedback and revisions
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving software and technology
• Interest in improving systems, workflows, and visual presentation quality
• Experience producing interior or renovation renders preferred
