Job Overview

You’ll play a crucial role in helping real estate investors maintain accurate financial records and make informed business decisions. This isn’t your typical bookkeeping role—youll work with property transactions that require specialized knowledge and proper categorization. You’ll handle multiple clients with straightforward real estate portfolios, giving you variety while building expertise in real estate accounting. As the business grows, there’s clear potential to expand your hours and take on additional responsibilities.


Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, CT, (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Categorize real estate transactions properly, including property purchases, sales, and related expenses
  • Maintain accurate balance sheets and profit & loss statements for real estate investment portfolios
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping entries for multiple real estate clients with basic transaction volumes
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding their financial records when necessary
  • Organize and track financial information across multiple client accounts
  • Ensure proper classification of real estate investments versus expenses on financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes


Requirements

  • Experience with real estate bookkeeping and understanding of property transaction categorization
  • Knowledge of how to properly classify real estate investments on balance sheets and P&L statements
  • Strong English communication skills for client interaction
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bonus if you have experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • It helps if you’ve worked with real estate investors or property management companies
