Job Description

The QHSE Officer (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Officer) plays a crucial role in ensuring that quality management practices are adhered to while maintaining the health and safety standards within an organization. In collaboration with multiple departments, the QHSE Officer aims to foster an environment where health and safety are prioritized, systematically working to mitigate risks and enhance business operations' efficiency and safety. The officer is tasked with overseeing the development and implementation of quality and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves vigilant monitoring and assessment to facilitate continual improvement in quality management and occupational health and safety (HSE) practices, with the end goal of safeguarding the well-being of all stakeholders and the environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive QHSE policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Conduct regular QHSE inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and the formulation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and legislative changes regarding QHSE.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees on quality, health, safety, and environmental topics.
  • Collaborate with departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on QHSE performance and improvement recommendations.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure readiness for potential incidents.
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to the established QHSE management systems and standards.
  • Review contractors and suppliers to ensure they meet corporate safety and quality expectations.
  • Advise senior management on strategies to enhance QHSE practices and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a QHSE officer or similar role.
  • Proven knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail for effective problem-solving.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite and QHSE management software tools.
