Job Overview

A new opportunity has become available to join our Leicester Office as a Buyer. You will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment while developing a strong working

relationship with colleagues and suppliers.


Job Highlights

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm US Eastern. With 1 hour unpaid break.

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor


Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities

  • Identifying purchasing needs within the operations and finance teams
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing
  • Effectively communicating with the internal purchaser to ensure all orders are accurate
  • Processing requisitions for purchase orders and updating the internal recipient on the status of orders
  • Developing an effective and accurate process for placing and monitoring purchase orders
  • Delivering a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders
  • Working to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products
  • Performing a competitive analysis and alternative vendors for business commodities
  • Assisting Supply Chain and Logistics in inventory management and stock levels
  • Working with Logistics Coordinator to arrange transport of goods and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitoring the incoming materials quality and escalating any discrepancies to suppliers and management Ad-hoc tasks requested by CFO or CEO.


Qualifications

  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in Purchasing
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers
  • Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies
  • An understanding of purchase order software platforms
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company
  • IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs
  • Experience in the cosmetics or supplements industry is a bonus
