Power System Modeling Specialist – Data Request & SKM Support

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Power System Modeling Specialist to support a U.S.-based Power Systems Engineering team delivering complex power system studies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring engineering analyses are accurate, complete, and client-ready by owning model preparation, structured data entry, and ongoing model maintenance.

Key Responsibilities Power System Model Preparation
Prepare SKM skeleton models based on customer drawings, single-line diagrams, and provided documentation
Perform detailed data entry for impedance models, including:
Utility sources
Cables
Transformers
Associated electrical equipment
Model Maintenance & Data Integrity
Update and revise SKM models as new or modified customer drawings are received
Support large and complex projects by completing time-intensive modeling tasks, including:
Renaming and organizing components
Cleaning, standardizing, and validating model data
Ensuring consistency across project files and datasets
Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with Power Systems Engineers to ensure models are accurate, complete, and analysis-ready
Perform advanced data entry for LV gear and devices under engineer supervision as skills develop
Assist with additional modeling, documentation, and data-related tasks to support on-time project delivery
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field
1+ year of experience supporting electrical engineering, power systems, or technical modeling work
Hands-on experience using SKM Power*Tools for model creation, data entry, or system updates
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and collaborate with U.S.-based teams
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when managing large volumes of technical data
Comfort performing repetitive, precision-based tasks while maintaining high quality and consistency
Self-starter mindset: organized, dependable, and eager to learn and grow
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to or experience supporting power system studies, including:
Short circuit
Arc flash
Coordination
Load flow
Experience with multiple power system analysis platforms such as SKM, EasyPower, and/or ETAP
Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, drawings, and equipment schedules
Interest in expanding technical capabilities as the organization continues to grow its software and service offerings
