About the Role


We are seeking a strategic and driven Global Operations Manager to establish, lead, and scale the offshore operations division for a leading Australian electrical and construction services group. With over two decades of expertise in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects, the client is entering an exciting phase of international growth. You will be the cornerstone of this expansion—building a remote team from the ground up, optimizing cross-border workflows, and ensuring seamless integration between onshore and offshore units. This is a high-impact role for an operational leader passionate about building teams, refining processes, and driving global scalability in a dynamic, project-driven industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end setup and management of the client’s offshore operations, scaling the remote team from 1 to 10+ members within the first year.
  • Design, document, and implement robust operational and project management processes tailored to electrical contracting and construction services—ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency across all workflows.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor a high-performing remote team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and incentive programs to maintain high productivity and engagement in a fully remote setting.
  • Act as the primary liaison between onshore leadership and the offshore team, ensuring clear communication, goal alignment, and timely project execution.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement modern project management, task-tracking, and collaboration tools to enhance visibility and operational control.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align offshore strategy with business objectives, supporting long-term growth and operational excellence.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery across time zones.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, with a proven track record of at least 3 years specifically in building, managing, and scaling remote or offshore teams.
  • Background in project-based industries such as construction, contracting, engineering, or professional services is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business process design, implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, which will be assessed via voice recording as part of the application process. Must be able to manage cross-cultural dynamics and bridge geographic gaps effectively.
  • High proficiency with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Trello, MS Project, ClickUp) and remote collaboration platforms (Slack, Teams, etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated strong leadership experience, with 5+ years considered highly desirable. Must have a proven ability to inspire, mentor, and hold remote teams accountable.
  • Strategic, data-driven leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, growing organization with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
