Midjourney Expert AI Editorial Designer

Summary

We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Editorial Designer to lead the complete

design and layout of books from start to finish. This role requires someone who can independently

manage the entire production process, including editorial layout, visual consistency, and the

creation or integration of AI-generated imagery.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in editorial design, is highly detail-oriented, and is

comfortable working autonomously to deliver high-quality, publication-ready books.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and layout complete books (print and/or digital) from concept to final delivery.
• Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity throughout each book.
• Design and format interior pages, including typography, margins, grids, and hierarchy.
• Create, generate, or curate AI-generated images (e.g., Midjourney or similar tools) and
• integrate them seamlessly into the book design.
• Prepare files for print and digital publication, ensuring technical accuracy and quality
• standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate feedback while maintaining design integrity.
• Manage timelines and deliverables independently, ensuring deadlines are met.

Required Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven experience as an Editorial Designer or similar role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating complete book projects (layout + final execution).
• Solid knowledge of editorial design principles and typography.
• Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop (or equivalent tools).
• Practical experience working Midjourney is a MUST.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously, completing full projects without close supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for visual quality.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing book series or long-form editorial projects.
• Familiarity with publishing workflows and print specifications.
