Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to bridge the gap between patients, billing staff, and front office operations. In this role, you will ensure smooth daily operations by managing patient communications, verifying insurance eligibility, and securing payments in a fast-paced environment.


Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri 9am-5pm Eastern Time 35 hours a week (includes 1hr unpaid break)

Responsibilities

Patient Communication:

  • Make outbound calls to patients for billing-related matters, demographic updates, payment collections, and insurance update follow-ups.
  • Respond promptly to inbound patient inquiries via phone or email with clarity and professionalism.


Billing Support:

  • Collect and charge copays at the time of service or via phone.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage using payer portals, phone.
  • Confirm copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
  • Update demographic details, and payment methods in the EHR.
  • Set up and maintain patient payment plans per internal guidelines.
  • Follow up with patients for missing or incomplete billing-related information.
  • Collaborate closely with the front desk team and billing team.
  • Document all patient interactions and billing updates in the EMR/billing system.


Requirements

  • Medical billing leadership
  • MEDICAL BILLING COLLECTIONS BACKGROUND REQUIRED
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet verification deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Understanding of insurance guidelines and authorization requirements.
  • Excellent in navigating Insurance online Portals for eligibility.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
