Medical Billing Specialist Ambulance Services

Overview

You will manage the complete revenue cycle for a growing medical billing company specializing in the ambulance services niche. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise through comprehensive training while ensuring accurate billing and collections for emergency services.

Schedule:

• Full-time (40 hours per week); Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm Central Time Zone

Responsibilities

• Perform medical coding for ambulance services and related healthcare procedures
• Conduct insurance verification and eligibility checks for patients
• Handle accounts receivable management and follow-up activities
• Contact insurance companies for claim status updates and payment resolution
• Process billing and coding tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient revenue cycle operations
• Participate in ambulance-specific billing training provided by the company
• Support revenue cycle optimization and process improvements

Requirements

• Previous experience in medical billing and coding
• Background in insurance verification processes
• Experience with accounts receivable management in healthcare settings
• Strong English communication skills for insurance company interactions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Healthcare industry background preferred
• Bonus if you have ambulance or EMS billing experience
• It helps if you’re comfortable learning specialized billing procedures
